The ATEX Directive applies to mechanical or electrical equipment used in explosive or potentially explosive atmospheres. The directive requires equipment and protective systems intended for both explosive and potentially explosive atmospheres to be designed and manufactured to minimize the occurrence and limit the severity of accidental explosions.
This course will take you through the CE and Ex marking process in detail. You will gain an understanding of the requirements, including the various options for ensuring equipment is safe, and how to carry out a risk assessment for this type of equipment.
We strongly recommend you attend our introduction to CE and UKCA marking course as a prerequisite to this course. This will provide you with the basic understanding of CE and UKCA marking necessary to understand the more specialist content included in this course.
