The WEEE
Directive (Waste from Electrical
and Electronic Equipment Directive) 2002/96/EC uses a special
logo in addition to the CE
logo to show that the equipment
should not be disposed of in the normal waste stream.
The logo is defined in
detail in the European Standard EN 50419. It is the same as the
symbol used on rechargeable batteries to show that they should
not be disposed of in landfill, but for electrical equipment manufactured
after 13 August 2005, a horizontal bar underneath the crossed-out
wheelie bin is added to show that the equipment is waste which
has been manufactured after the Directive came into force.
Artwork for the logo is
available to download from the links below in a number of file
formats. You will need a program which can expand Stuffit archives
(Macintosh) or Zip files (Windows) to be able to access the files.
